Computer Theorist Are Arguing On This Particular Topic Since Decades And No One Could Come Up With A Satisfying Answer Is To Why Is The One Better Than The Other.  When It Comes To PC & Mac Both Have A Whole Different Set Of Computing , Operations, Functionality, Applications , Software’s Even Hardware. What Is A PC?

The Acronym ‘PC’ Was Originally Derived By Hewlett-Packard For Their Microcomputer HP9100A. Wikipedia Defines PC As “A personal computer (PC) is any general-purpose computer whose size, capabilities, and original sales price make it useful for individuals, and which is intended to be operated directly by an end-user with no intervening computer operator.”

In Simple Terms A PC Is A Standalone Workstation Which Is Intended To Operate On Any Hardware/Software And Operating System. Unlike A Mac,PC Does Not Require Specific Requirements To Be Operated. A PC Can Be Operated In Any Computing Environment Without Any Additional Specifications.

2)  Easy Availability Of Software’s/Hardware/Accessories/Upgrades.

3)  Multiplatform (Can Be Operated On Any Operating System).

Cons:

1) Poor Integration And Security.

2) Low On Performance (Lags/Freezes).

Who Should Buy A PC??

Pc’s Are Affordable And Anybody Can Afford To Get One Although PC’s Are Cheap As Compared To Mac But One Of The Biggest Advantage Of Them Is They Are Upgradable And Down gradable  i.e You Can Get Yourself A PC Which Fits Your Requirement. PC’s Are Generally Used By The People Who Are Not Involved In The Industry Which Demands High Performance Such As Home/Office Purposes And Other Low/Mid Level Applications. Although PC’s Can Also Be Used For High End Applications Just Like A Mac By Performing Some Additional Hardware And Software Upgrades.

     

What Is A Mac?

A Mac a.k.a Macintosh Is Basically What Apple.inc Calls Their Computers. The First Mac Was Introduced To The World In 1984 By Mr.Steve Jobs (Former Chairman And CEO Of Apple.inc) And Steve Wozniak (Co-Founder Of Apple.inc). Perhaps, Mac Was One Of The First Commercially Successful Computer Which Came With Graphical User Interface (GUI) Instead Of A Command Line Interface. Mac’s Is Completely Different From PC’s. A Mac Is Considered To Be More Powerful And Smart Computers As Compared To PC’s. Unlike PC, Mac Operates On Its Own ‘Apple Authorized’ Hardware, Software, Applications And Operating System. A Mac Operates On Mac OSX (The Operating Systems Designed By Apple Specifically For A Mac).  No Other Operating Systems Can Run On A Mac Unless And Until They Are Operated On ‘Windows Boot Camp’ (For Windows Only) Or Any Other Virtual Machines.

3)Incredible Performance/Benchmarks.

4)Dedicated App Store (Free/Paid Apps).

5)Highly Secured (Cannot Be Infected By Any Viruses/Malwares Easily).

Cons:

1)Poor After Services (Repairs/Replacement).

2)Too Costly (Hardware/Software/Accessories).

3)Unavailability Of Essential Software’s + Software’s For Mac Are Too Costly Itself.

4) The O/S Is A Little Bit Difficult To Operate, Understand And Manage For A     Newbie.    

Who Should Buy A Mac??

One Of The Biggest Setbacks Of Macintoshes Are They Are Too Costly. Not Everybody Can Afford To Buy A Mac Although It’s a Great Piece Of Technology. Mac’s Are Known For Their Performance And High Security Therefore Mac Are Generally Used By The People Who Are Involved In The Industries Which Demand High Performance Such As:

1)    Industrial Designing.

2)    Animation/Multimedia/Special Effects.

3)    Video Editing, Encoding, Rendering.

4)    High End Gaming Or Other High End Applications.

Our Verdict

When It Comes To PC’s And Mac’s Each Of Them Have Their Own Pros And Cons. Mac’s Are Known For Their Hardware And Performance Whereas PC’s Are Known For Their Low Cost And Affordability. Apple Neither Provides Satisfying After Services Nor Eleventh Hour Upgrades. Mac Still Has A Long Way To Go (Atleast In India).If Either Of You Junkies Are ‘Born With A Silver Spoon’ And Can Spend Big Bucks For A Noteworthy Computer With High End Hardware/Software,Go For A Mac And For The Rest Of Junkies Who Cannot Afford To Spend Thousands Of Dollars On A Computer, Go For A PC. ;) :D
